It's important to bring light to such sensitive topics in order to normalize the conversation, unify our community, and validate the necessity for providing resources and support to student-athletes. The university currently fields 23 varsity Division II mens and womens teams. Mental health and suicide prevention awareness are topics near and dear to WCU Athletics, affecting our WCU student-athletes and community directly. The West Chester Golden Rams represent West Chester University of Pennsylvania, which is located in West Chester, Pennsylvania, in intercollegiate sports.They compete in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in NCAA Division II. Provide mental health education and resources.Raise awareness surrounding mental health, including suicide prevention awareness.Raise funds to benefit WCU student-athletes, providing new and additional resources toward mental health initiatives.WCU students, staff, faculty, family, friends, and community members are encouraged to rally with us in support of our student-athletes through participation in the 5k race or 1 mile walk. in what will also be Senior Day for the Golden Rams. The fourth annual Rams Let's Walk 5k will be held on Sunday, September 18th, 2022 at 9am to raise funds and awareness for West Chester University student-athlete mental health. West Chester returns to action on Saturday afternoon against Lock Haven beginning at 1 p.m.
